Schools and institutions
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is applied in many schools and kindergartens and supports the development of social skills in children and adults.
- NVC contributes to a better connection and resolution of conflict.
- NVC transforms bullying into life-enriching relations.
- NVC supports development of self-esteem, freedom and community.
- NVC improves the understanding of feelings and needs of myself and others.
The NVC process is also known as Giraffe language and life-enriching communication.
I offer workshops and training in NVC for teachers and in collaboration. Read more here and find my upcoming and previous NVC workshops at www.livkom.dk
If you would like to arrange a workshop or presentation for your school or institution please write to me.
Free film about NVC in schools
In collaboration with Filmkompagniet I have made 5 short films about Culture of Peace in School with NVC. I am now sharing these films with everybody who is interested in teaching NVC.
In the film the teacher uses flashcards with feelings and needs to help the children understand their own needs and feelings as well as needs and feelings of others.
The illustrated cards come from the book Respectful Parents, Respectful Kids by Sura Hart and Victoria Kindle Hodson
You can download the materials and watch the films for FREE with subtitles in multiple languages. Find them in the navigation menu on the video page. And click on the corresponding language in the menu on the right.
Translations
Besides English, the five Danish films about NVC in schools have been translated/ subtitled in Chinese, German, Italian, Dutch, Nepalese, German, Polish, Bulgarian, Turkish. Norwegian, Portuguese and Spanish versions will also be made available soon.
If you would like to make these films available in your own language
Please get in touch with me at kirsten(at)livets-sprog.dk so that we can make agreements about the process of translation, production and distribution of the films in your own language.
The videos are free to share as they are, but translating them into a new language requires a contract with me.
The purpose of the contract is to assure connection and quality.
