“Words are windows or they’re walls”

Are you struggling with conflicts at your home and don’t know how to deal with them?
Would you like to know how to talk about your own boundaries while respecting boundaries of your family members at the same time?
Are you longing for mutual understanding and some ease in relations with your children?
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) helps you create the connection you dream of having with your loved ones. For example how to:
– see “No” as the beginning of a dialogue;
– maintain close connection with your teenage children;
– change daily tug-of-war and struggles into cooperation that includes the needs of everybody;
– stand up for your values, without judging others;
– support your children in their relationships with other children and adults.
Nonviolent Communication is an empathic form of communication that promotes connection, closeness, respect and understanding. NVC helps us move closer to conflict and harvest the creativity and innovation that is behind it. When my way and your way do not function together, we are called to develop a new, third way for us to move forward.
In this training we will explore ways to create a shift in the culture in our family. We might have a glimpse of the more beautiful world that we sense is possible in our family. We will work with practical step towards changing conflicts into connection. There will be a space for each participant to ask questions and receive support.
About the trainer:
Kirsten is a family therapist, mediator and certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication, through which she has led Nonviolent Communication trainings in Europe, Asia and the Americas. For 25 years, Kirsten has devoted her working life to supporting others in personal development. Her passion is to contribute to the personal development and healing that enables people to move closer to conflicts and to grow the relational competencies that support social change work. She enjoys working with body, mind and energy consciousness that leads to connection beyond words. People who experience Kirsten’s training and facilitation often express enjoyment of how she models what she teaches with a drizzle of humor.
In my work with families, I integrate the family dynamic understanding that I gained from my education as a Family Therapist by the Kempler Institute in Denmark.
This process is also called Life Enriching Communication or Giraffe Language.
